Class X

CHEMISTRY

1.        Dissolve different substances and study the properties like – Stability, Electrical            conductivity, Boiling point, Melting point and classify them into ionic or covalent
           compounds.
2.        Make a ball, and stick models of different compounds like H2O, CH4, NH3, etc.
3.        Make a paste of different vegetables and fruits and study the electric properties.
           Also, make use of this energy to run a table clock. 
4. .      Make a working model of Periodic Table
5.        Manufacture soaps at home.
6.        Study the rusting of iron in different conditions like Normal water, boiled water, oil, 
          
etc.
7.        To study the acidic or basic properties of different samples at home with turmeric 
          
paper.
8.         Make natural indicators from turmeric paper or china rose.

 

BIOLOGY

Make a chart and give 3-D effect by sticking thermo or cotton sheet behind the diagram. Diagram should be big and information has to be very specific and clear. The size of letters has to be very bold, so everyone is forced to read it.

PHYSICS

A.   Prepare a project and power point presentation on the following topics as per the roll numbers (first one-third of the class) .

Group 1 (any one topic)

  1. Estimation of force needed to rotate a body using sticks(levers) of different lengths

  2. Can you see sound? Can you put out a lighted candle with sound? How fast does it travel? How would the nature of medium affect the sound?

  3. Roll cylinders of different materials on an inclined plane . Estimate the frictional force by measuring the distance travelled by them in a given time interval. Try this with different surfaces of different curvatures.

Group 2 (any one topic)

  1. Make a survey of events where you notice inter-conversion of different forms of energy. Hence list the name of transducers.

  2. Effect of impurities on boiling point of liquids

  3. To measure the critical angle of light ray in water

Group 3 (any one)

  1. Make a cross word on terms in physics/scientists/units.

  2. Benefits and harmfulness of sunlight.

  3. To study the reflection of light ray from a semiconductor laser source by a plane mirror and concave mirror in a smoke box.

B.   Visit a science fair/museum.

C.   Revise the portion covered from motion chapter and come prepared for a class test

1.How much of heat energy is given to each coulomb of charge passing through a 6 V    battery?

2. Judge the equivalent resistance when 1Ω and 106 Ω are connected in parallel.

3. How can 2 Ω ,3 Ω ,6 Ω connected to give a total of a) 4 Ω  b) 1 Ω

4. When a 12 V battery is connected across an unknown resistor, there is a current of 2.5 mA in the circuit. Find the value of the resistance of the resister

5. 3.2 J of work is done on a charge of 1.6 X 10-4 C. What is the potential difference developed between the two points?

 

ART AND CRAFT

  1. Submit Two water color landscapes on half sized hand made sheet (each)

  2. Write Two Quotations or Verses from the Bible in any style. Use re-cycled paper (half chart each) using Sketch pens/Colors or Cut & Paste.

  3. Make a decorative piece using totally waste material. (Size 10’X12’)

  4. FOLK Art of India (old traditional Art) collect pictures/ paintings (at least 10) in a scrap file and prepare a power point presentation on any one in details. (Down load pictures from web site)

  5. Paint a Canvas in oil any size. Theme: -Landscape.

  6. Visit Crafts Museum interview artists and copy one art piece of your choice. And also a PPT on the same.

  7. Download information on life of artist (any field) and prepare a power point presentation.

  8. Worli Art Painting  on paper (SIZE 10”x18”.)

  9. Prepare a PPT on Common Wealth Games.  (all events)

  10. Prepare a story strip “ WHAT YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW” using pen (black).   

  11. Mix Media Painting OR Traditional GLASS Painting.

 

ENGLISH

1.    Read your supplementary reader  ‘The Call of The Wild by Jack London’ and write the book review in your English notebook.

2.    Prepare a PPT on any one chapter of your Literature Reader. (More pictures and bigger font)

 

HINDI AND SANSKRIT

INDIAN MUSIC

During holidays many classical music programmes are conducted in Delhi. Collect details and prepare a scarp book.

MATHS

Prepare a project on one of the following topics according to your roll numbers:
