CHEMISTRY

SLOT 1

 1.     Dissolve different substance  like salt; sugar; baking soda, lemon juice etc. In water freeze it in freezer and measure melting point of ice.  Study each difference in pure water.
2.     Take samples of different brands of  milk add some in different quantity and observe the melting point.
3.     Make a working model of the first 20 elements with their symbols.

SLOT 2

 1.     Collect different mixture or make different mixtures and study the properties,  classify them into true solution , collide, suspension.
2.      Make a cross word for scientist or element or chemistry terms on a chart paper .
3.     Make your own hydrogen balloon by electrolyzing of  water.

SLOT 3

1.     Make a working model structure of  atom.
2.     Make a model to show that pencil led is a good conductor of electricity .
3.     Make any chemistry model of your choice.


BIOLOGY

Make a chart and give 3-D effect by sticking thermo or cotton sheet behind the diagram. Diagram should be big and information has to be very specific and clear. The size of letters has to be very bold, so everyone is forced to read it.

PHYSICS

A.   Prepare a project and power point presentation on the following topics as per the roll numbers (first one-third of the class) .

Group 1 (any one topic)

  1. Energy management.

  2.  Measure wind speed at different heights- Investigate the effect of the surrounding structures and vegetation.

Group 2 (any one topic)

  1. Effect of impurity on melting point of ice.

  2. Time taken on boiling of milk as a function of water quantity in it.

Group 3 (any one)

  1. Observations in a slinky.

  2. To study sliding friction on horizontal and inclined planes.

Group 4

  1. Absorption of heat by variety of clothes made of different fibres

  2. Motion of different shaped objects (of same material) through liquids.

  3. To study liquid pressure at a point due to liquid filled in containers of different shapes.

1.A boy covers a distance of 2km at a speed of 15 km/h while going to the market from his home. He comes back home covering the same distance at a speed of 4 km/h. Calculate the total time taken in hours.                                                                     Ans- 0.9 s

2. A car travels 45 km at a uniform speed of 60 km/h and the next 30 km at a uniform speed of 40 km/h. Compute its average speed.                                                   Ans- 50 km/h

3. In a 100 m race, a sprinter covers 3m in first second, 32 m in next 4 seconds and 48 m in another 4 seconds. Ultimately it takes 10s to finish the race.
a) Compute the average speed of the sprinter.
b) What is the peak velocity attained by the sprinter?
c) plot the distance-time graph.

4. A train moving with a speed of 72 km/h stopped in 10s after applying the brakes. Compute the acceleration of the train.                                                                   Ans - -2m/s2

5. A fast moving train travelling at 180 km/h is brought to rest with a uniform retardation in 25 seconds. Calculate the distance moved by it after it comes to rest.           Ans – 625m

 

ART AND CRAFT

  1.  Visit to a Museum or Exhibition, collect the reference or catalogue and write about any one Artist, his life and his work in a file. 
                                                OR
     Download information on life of artist (any field) and prepare a power point presentation.

  2. Paint a Canvas in Oil (any size).

  3. Make a PPT on Common Wealth Games covering all events.

  4. Write Two Quotations or Two Verses from the Bible in any style and decorate the margins on half chart paper each (use re-cycled paper.)

  5. Make Kalamkari painting of Andhra Pradesh (size 15"x18" or big).

  6. Prepare a Glass painting any size with a nice frame.

  7. Paper collage using old greeting cards.(“SAVE NATURE’)

  8. Make 6 envelopes and 6 Cards (any occasion) using waste material, block printing, stencil work, sparkles / 3D liner etc. 

ENGLISH

  1. Read your supplementary reader ‘Room on the Roof’ by Ruskin Bond and write the book review in your English notebook.

  2. Prepare a PPT on any one chapter of your Literature Reader. (More pictures and bigger font)
