Junior Wing Celebrates Founders’ Day with Enthusiasm:

A special assembly was conducted to commemorate the occasion. The students staged a medley of songs, dances and skits.

Mrs. Manjeet Singh, a retired staff member was the Guest of Honour. She addressed the students and encouraged them to work hard and enjoy their school years. 

The super achievers and students securing 100% attendance in the school session 2009-10 were recognized.

An art competition was organized to encourage talent and creativity amongst the tiny-tots of the Jr. School.  

The celebration was complete with distribution of chocolates to the entire MCS fraternity.

 

Culture Exchange Programme

The Third Junior Exchange Programme between Mount Carmel School and Methodist Girls School, Singapore took place from May 23rd to 28th, 2010. 

Fifteen students from both our branches participated in this exchange.The five days were packed with exciting  activities and sight seeing. The MCS girls had a first hand experience of the education system and culture of Singapore.  

They attended classes with the students of MGS. Our girls presented a glimpse of our rich Indian culture and heritage through a colourful, traditional Rajasthani dance.

 It was a memorable experience for the nine year old Mount Carmelites

EARTH DAY

Earth Day was celebrated in the Jr. School on 22.4.10
 A special assembly was conducted where the students were told about the significance of the earth day and how each one of us can help in saving our mother earth from pollution and making it a better place to live. The program comprised of an audio-visual presentation on Earth – What it is and What it should be. 


A poem was recited by the students to send across the message that our earth is for us to enjoy. The song “ WE ARE THE WORLD” was beautifully presented by the school choir accompanied by a video clip in the background.
 

Headmistress,Mrs Robert in her speech  suggested how each one of us can contribute towards making our earth a better a place.

Inter house competitions with a theme “ Save the earth” were conducted to create awareness amongst the students. 


Various 
competitions like Book mark making competition, Badge making competition and Poster making were held on the occasion.


ORIENTATION FOR NURSERY AND PREPARATORY

Orientation for Nursery and new enterants to class  Prep was held on 26th Mrach’10. The parents attended it with full enthusiasm and zeal. Each teacher was introduced to the audience and they enlightened the parents on the education system and the regulations followed in the school. Our Headmistress Mrs. E. Robert stressed on the “Power of the Spoken Word”. She emphasized that the little ones need to be nurtured with love, care and affection  to help them grow into healthy, responsible individuals, upholding the moral values taught in school.

 

GRADUATION CEREMONY

The students of Class III had their graduation ceremony on 19th.March, 2010 in the premises of Junior School  .  

Dressed smartly in their red gowns and capes, the children had excitement all over their faces as they were awaiting the big event of going up to the stage to receive their scroll.

The ceremony was presided over by our principal Dr. V.K. Williams and the audience consisted of a large number of parents.

After a welcome song and prayer, the chief guest handed over the scroll to the students.

The principal then addressed the audience and wished the students.

After a special song by the school choir, the young graduates marched out amidst a rousing applause and a crowd of beaming faces.

The memorable day concluded with a round of refreshments and handing out of the results. The students were all set to enter the senior school.  

 

“Goodbye to you my trusted friend……”

March 12, 2010 signaled the dawn of a new morning for the outgoing students of Class III who, after having successfully completed their stint in Mt Carmel Junior School, were prepared to step into the brave new world of seniors. The function began with a word of prayer for the Lord and this was followed by a cultural programme  which included  beautiful dance by Joel Kire  of class II and an emotional rendition of an all time favourite ‘Season In The Sun’ by the teachers. It was followed by the traditional ceremony in which students of class II  lined up with lit candles in their hands while Mrs. Robert presented each outgoing student with a copy of the holy Bible. We wish them happiness and success in days to come.

The memorable day concluded with a round of refreshments and handing out of the results. The students were all set to enter the senior school.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

The Mount Carmel Jr. school Investiture ceremony was held on 11th.Feb 2010.The chief guest for the occasion was Dr. V.K.Williams,Principal ,Mount Carmel school Anand Niketan.

 The programme began with a word of prayer .After the welcome song by the school choir, the badges were pinned on to the newly elected prefects by the chief guest.They were very enthusiastically cheered by their parents, teachers and fellow students.

It was indeed a proud and memorable moment for them when they were being administered the oath by the chief guest.

Our sincere thanks to the outgoing prefects. You did a splendid job!

The prefects sworn in were for the post of Head boy, Head girl, Sports captain (boys) , Sports captain ( girls) and captain (boy) , captain ( girl ) , sports captain of all the eight houses i.e. Anand, Dhiraj, Kripa, Namrata, Nishtha, Prem, Satya and Shanti.

To create a sense of responsibility and general awareness special prefects were sworn in for the post of save the earth, save electricity, save water, cleanliness, and save flora and fauna.

Congratulations, dear young leaders and best wishes for the year ahead.
