Mount Carmel Shiksha Kendra Annual Day, The Moment of pride

“Mount Carmel Shiksha Kendra” is an initiative by Mount Carmel Schools and the NGO “Yug Parivarthan” for children from the economically weakest sections of society. Mount Carmel Shiksha Kendra started in Dwarka on 12th  August, 2002 as a tribute dedicated to underprivileged students  on the nation’s 55th Independence Anniversary.

The 200 students of Mount Carmel Shiksha Kendra  celebrated their Annual Day by presenting a programme  filled with colour, music and artistic brilliance. The programme began with a word of  prayer, followed by presentation of the Annual Report and   cultural items.

             

The team of 6 teachers from Wales visiting Mount Carmel School as part of the ongoing Foreign Exchange Programme were the esteemed guests.  Special  Guest, Shri Budhiraja  and Mrs. V. Puri, Coordinator Delhi Schools Literacy Project graced the occasion. 

The Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) N.M. Williams gave away the prize for Karen Williams Memorial Award for Best Student to Pammi of Class XII.  .  Mrs. Puri, Coordinator - Delhi Schools Literacy Project, gave away  prizes to the  learners made literate in the literacy programme conducted by volunteer students of  Mount Carmel Shiksha Kendra.

            

The parents of Mount Carmel Shiksha Kendra mainly daily wages earners, watched mesmerized as the programme unfolded before their wondrous eyes and their children presented an array of items such as prayer song, nukkad natak, skit and a dance item.
