Co
Scholastic Activities
The CBSE has highlighted Co Scholastic activities with a different
coloured spot light recently. Our school always had it in the Prime Spot
in close grading system with Scholastic Activities and achievement.
Friday for a Dwarka Mount Carmelite is a much awaited day because; the
whole school is alive and ablaze with either House Activities or Co
Scholastic Activities. There are eight Houses in the School namely Prem,
Anand, Nishta, Namrata, Shanti, Dheeraj, Kripa and Satya. There are more
than 27 clubs to cater to the taste of creative students. Every month has
2 House Activity Days and 2 Club Activity Days.
Activities to aid learning and competitions to measure learning are the
two sides of the Co Scholastic Activity plans. Be it
logic or reasoning, be it a no logic creativity or a
spot decision demanding creativity
or management , A Mount Carmelite is
both taught and trained by
dedicated and academically competent teachers.
Even non - teaching staff is part and parcel of these activities as per
time and skill.
House
Activities and Club activities are planned in the beginning of the
Academic year and they pick up momentum in the very first week of April.
All the students, be it Magic Michaels or
Lazy Lilies or Average Arnolds, they all get involved in these
activities. Though some tend to cleverly hide, they are sought for
by their own peers or team members because, whether their move adds
a feather to their Houses or not it does add points
to their Houses.
The best House of the year is measured on a simply interesting scale that
gives points for being as well as presenting in other words contribution
and code of conduct. This sets the students on a high tone of group
desire, corporal creativity and commendable contribution. Visitors on
Friday have a treat of ‘not to miss buzz’ of colourful life that
leaves them to wonder whether
Mount Carmel
is a regular school or Tagore’s Shanti Niketan.
